Forms Assistance: 
Staff will assist in applying for such programs as, but not limited to, PAAD, HEAP, NJ Saver Rebate, Lifeline, Bell Atlantic Linkup, etc. Contact the office for an appointment.  Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps pay for heating costs and universal service funds helps make utility bills affordable. Applications are available at the Fair Lawn Human Services Department, Room 112 in Borough Hall or download it here

Meals on Wheels:

Meals are delivered to shut-ins who have no one to prepare food and who require special dietary restrictions. The cost is $27.00 per week and includes two meals per day, five days per week. Applicants must sign up for at least 1 month.  
Volunteer drivers are needed for this program to deliver meals one day per month.  If you have any questions, please call 201-794-5333 between Noon and 4 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Fridays or between 9 AM and 1 PM on Thursdays.

Food Pantry:
Provides an emergency food package to residents in financial need. Donations to the pantry are accepted year round. 

Public transportation schedules:
Available schedules for New Jersey Transit are available in the office. 

Workers For A Fee:
Human Services has a listing of various home services' providers to be mailed upon request. This is a resource list only, providers are not employed by this office nor are they screened by office staff. The following provider categories are: companions, certified aides, drivers for a fee, seamstresses, carpet cleaning, yard work, odd jobs, hairdressers, snow removal, medical transportation, shopping and housekeepers.

Senior Citizen Discount Cards:
In cooperation with the Office of Senior Services, Human Services issues cards for residents 60 years and older. Please bring in proof of age.

Pool tags for low-income, permanently disabled:
In cooperation with the Recreation Department eligibility is determined for free pool tags for the season. You must be between 18-65, and both permanently disabled and low income. Registration is in June and will be announced in a press release.

Holiday Programs:
Human Services provides eligible families and individuals with holiday specific items throughout the year.

Friends of Fair Lawn Fund:
This fund is used for one time emergency, financial help to families or individuals facing crisis. You must call for an intake appointment. This program is solely supported by community donations.
